What is recommended fitness level?

The fitter you are the more you will enjoy the trip. Your guides are Taupo 4.30-5.00 riders. Your "Celebrity Guide" joining us in the Alps will be able to really push you up those climbs if you want to save your legs to challenge him.

We will be happy to discuss a training programme to follow leading up to the tour and would recommend you budget on doing a minimum of 200km a week, ideally a bit more.  The most important thing you can do to prepare is to ride a lot of hills!!

Will you have different levels and distances for daily routes?

Yes and no. We will start all rides together but realize we don't all climb equally fast so a split will happen. There will always be a guide with the faster riders and one at the back of our group. No rider will ever be left behind.

We will offer drop-offs and shorter routes on some of the tougher routes if there is a need.

Will you send out information on "what to pack" like clothing, supplements, gearing etc?

Yes, 2 months prior to departure we will communicate with everyone regarding proper cycling clothing for all conditions we might encounter.

Weight will be an issue travelling so we will suggest we get all our supplies once we arrive in Italy.

Ideal gearing will be compact crank, 50/34 and 11/32 or 11/34 for the rear cassette.

How big are your groups and how many support staff?

Our groups will be small, between 8-10 riders with 2 support staff and guides if needed.

We will have a support vehicle on most rides but we also enjoy riding and would much rather enjoy the time with our clients on the bike.

What do you use for transportation?

Our group will travel in a luxury minivan and another vehicle as support.

Bikes will be transported on roof racks.

Can you organise Bike rental and other equipment needed?

Yes, bike rental is no problem. All rentals will be near new carbon Bikes with Ultegra gearing suitable for climbing.

Cost for the full tour will be approximately +/- $1500/14 days.

What happens in case of bad weather?

Rider safety will always come first and no ride will be attempted if there are any known risks.

There are many other activities around the areas we are visiting so we will have back-up plans in case of severe weather.

Will there be wifi at Hotels?

Yes, all our hotels will have internet access.
